The LINEAR/B is a wireless infrared safety system designed to eliminate the need for running cables on moving parts of your gate.
The battery-powered transmitter is mounted directly onto the moving section of the gate and connects to the safety edge. It continuously monitors the status of that edge and sends the information to the receiver, which is installed on the fixed side.
If the safety edge is triggered, the signal between the transmitter and receiver is immediately interrupted. This prompts the receiver to open the contact connected to your control unit, stopping or reversing the gate to prevent damage or injury.
To maximise efficiency, the LINEAR/B includes a built-in motion sensor within the transmitter. This allows the system to operate actively at the start of each gate movement, helping to significantly extend battery life.
When the gate is stationary, the transmitter remains active and continues to detect obstacles, although response times may be slightly slower compared to when the gate is in motion.
