Multipick's ELITE wave rakes represent years of research and development. Building on commercially available wave rakes, mathematical modelling and analysis across multiple prototypes, these impeccably crafted rakes are based on Christina Palmer's original quint cycloid and quint sinusoidal wave profiles - designed by Palmer and a group of PhDs using advanced Mathematica software to create an exact tapered wave effect.
Like all Multipick lock picks, the rakes are made from the finest spring steel in 0.6 mm thickness. The 25.4 mm wave length eliminates the normally required precise insertion depth and allows simultaneous interaction with up to 7 pins, while the evenly tapered profile from shaft to tip maximises strength and eliminates the stress concentrations that cause lesser picks to snap. The long plough tip lifts pin 1 rather than bumping into it head-on - with good technique, prompt openings are often possible.
The set covers both wave families: cycloid rakes (sine/cosine ratio 0.25) for non-slip action on simpler locks, and sinusoidal rakes (ratio 0) for gentle action on hard locks, each in quad versions for large locks and quint versions for small locks. Note that the aggressive cycloid rakes are sharp like a saw and can damage pins if used carelessly.
Eight rakes are paired with four ELITE TOK tension tools in 1.3 mm and a genuine leather sleeve. Made in Germany by Multipick, this is a serious raking system for locksmiths and locksport enthusiasts alike.
